1 can of best bitter
Quater of a pint of stock
1 and a half best venison casserole
1 teaspoon of sunflower oil
1 sliced onion
4oz mushrooms - sliced or chopped
Chopped chives
2 sticks of celery - chopped
Salt and pepper
1 teaspoon of tomato puree
2 tablespoons of soft brown sugar
1 teaspoon of honey
2oz of bacon bits
1oz of cornflour mixed with water

Toss meat and seasoned flour with bacon bits.
Chop vegetables and place in casserole dish,
pour on liquids. Add sugar and honey, puree,
salt and pepper. Lightly fry meat and bacon in oil.
Add meat to casserole dish. Cook in the oven
Gas 4 for 1 hour. Mix cornflour with a little water
then add to casserole and stir.
Return to the oven for another hour.
